"The 1st Annual Soul Dope Sunday Open Mic championship was in full swing. Performers were going up. The judges were posted at their table watching. There were singers. There were rappers. All talented. I arrived just in time for round 2. This young guy hops on the mic and sings. I've never seen him before. It didn't take long for him to impress me. His vocals and lyrics were strong. I'm thinking, Where did HE come from? He kills round 2. The crowd loves him. He comes back for round 3 and raps. Well. I wasn't expected THAT. He wins the competition like a pro. Just when I thought I couldn't be more blown away, I find out he's 17 year's old. "

Q. What do you bring to the music table?
A. I

Q. How did you get your start in music?
A.
I've been involved with music since I was 6yrs old, actually I had an
opportunity once to become a recording artist when I was 13 but me being
at that age I wasn't ready for it but as I was growing up I've always
created my own songs but I just didn't think it would be good enough for
me to display it to anybody so I always trashed every song I wrote. As
the years went by my high school junior year I got back into trying to
write and was getting frustrated because it seemed like nothing was
delivered right for my intention. Until one day my senior year 17yrs
old I was going through some things and I finally got to sit down and
get lost in my thoughts and just write a song and I haven't stopped
writing since that day I put out my first song on soundclound
Q. What is your ultimate goal as an artist?

Q. Any advice for other young artists that are thinking about getting into music professionally?
A. My advice would be to never quit and don't start something unless you know for sure you're able to finish and execute off it... And to keep in mind that music was never meant to be easy but at the end of the day no matter how well you do or you think you're doing there's always room for improvement
